The Coastal Series is the start of a new journey that explores casks hailing from coastlines across the world, with each cask breathing its local sea air, leaving their own distinctive maritime tastes. The whisky is matured in Wick, the home of Old Pulteney before being further influenced by the coastal notes from the North Sea. To create the series, Old Pulteney has partnered with wine and spirits makers from coastal locations around the world, further maturing its much-loved whisky in a specialist selection of casks, creating four beautifully unique, limited edition expressions that bring new coastal flavours to the ‘Maritime Malt’.

Aroma: Fragrant and rich with honey sweetness and vanilla at the base. Intense fruitiness starts jammy and stewed and develops into candies oranges and sticky balsamic raisins. Hints of toasted spices and powder pepper complete the stunning profile.
Taste: Viscous and lingering. Warm spices like nutmeg and cardamom lead, followed by gentle nuttiness, overall reminiscent of dukkha. Beautifully structured oakiness is perfumed with a wine reduction and balanced by creamy vanilla.
Finish: Caramelised hazelnuts and ground spices grow into an immense, lingering finish. It tails off into a broad sweetness, drying ever so slowly towards a savoury finale of coastal minerality.
